I will never forget it once in a lifetime thing to witness let alone capture it on film. I go down regularly to check on my Eagles and their babies. I was freaking out this day because I discovered there wasn’t one but two little furry heads that popped up. There were no adults in the nest. Just the two babies when I saw this unusually large bird I’ve never seen before eyeing the nest. It was a long time before the parents returned, but I am sure they were aware it was there. I didn’t learn how rare the bird was here in Newfoundland until a couple days later which made this so much more exciting than it already was. I spent many many many days in the winter sitting in snow until I was so cold I had to leave waiting and watching and looking for these eagles. This made it all worth it this one moment. This beautiful bird was seen in North River Newfoundland on June 5.
