Mavuika’s sword, A Thousand Blazing Suns, is finally done! It’s completely made out of EVA foam + PVC pipe rod and I installed almost 300 LEDs to create the light effect. I finished the light up base of Mavuika’s sword from Genshin Impact! The sword is mostly made out of EVA foam and a PVC pipe and I used almost 300 LEDs to create the light effect! Finally finished building Mavuika’s sword and it turned out SO MASSIVE! 😁 We covered up over 260 LEDs with diffusing LED foam and added a ton of details onto the sword. Our laser cutter was an amazing help, but obviously this could also all be done by hand. Super proud of the result! How do you like it? Next part is the paint job and I’m super excited! Mavuika’s Sword is finally done! 😱 We used airbrush colors and a lot of tape to apply plenty of different layers of yellow, orange and red. Painting everything took us three full days, but the result is so worth it! Absolutely love the vibrant colors! Plus, the LEDs still shine nicely through the translucent foam! I built Mavuika’s Sword from Genshin Impact und got so many questions if I’m going to sell it and how much it would cost! So, here is a breakdown of all the material costs and labor that went into it. I think most people would guess less. What do you think, does this sound fair? I hope this also helps to understand why I am not doing any commissions or sell our art! Instead I prefer to work as a content creator and help other artists with our tutorial books and crafting patterns. Also thanks a lot to @Kiana 💗 and @Lightning Cosplay for the inspiration to do such a video! I wish more artists would share their prices as this gives people more confidence to charge a more fair hourly rate and not to undervalue the worth of their art. 3D scans of yourself are incredibly handy for cosplay crafting! We used a scan of my head and body to bring the Revenant from Apex Legends to life! Benni 3D modeled the mask and robot torso directly on my digital double and the result had such a perfect fit! I love Horizon Zero Dawn! For Aloy's Shadow Stalwart armor we 3D sculpted, printed and painted 200 individual armor scales that we sewed onto a faux leather suit by hand.
