PSA: most Easter flowers are toxic to your cat! NOT safe for cats: Lillys (Easter Lillys & Calla Lillys), Daffodils, Hyacinths, Chrysanthemums, Daisys, Tulips, Azaleas, Hydrangeas (Just to name a few) EVERY part of the plant- stem, petals, leaves, pollen and even the water in the vase- is toxic to your cat! If you have cats, the best way to protect them is by not bringing these toxic plants into your home! Put them on our porch, or better yet… just leave them at the store. How Often are you washing your cats items? Their litterbox, their litter scoop, their food and water bowls, their fountain, their beds & toys should ALL be washed…. And be completely honest with yourself… are you doing if as often as you should? When you took on the responsibility of being a cat owner, you signed up for providing them a clean environment to live in. That means giving them a clean litter box and providing them with clean places to eat and drink fresh food and water is your JOB. They are only apart of your life for a window of your lifetime, but you are their entire life. You owe them a clean living environment. Once you add cleaning these items into your daily/weekly/monthly routine, you’ll realize it’s not as hard as you think it is! Lady is not up for adoption because she needs a procedure done, but can’t go under anesthesia at the current weight she is at! We’re working with her to help lose weight, so she can have surgery, and will then be looking for a family who can continue to help her lose weight, and somebody who will be willing to not only accommodate their home to fit her, but also help her with her with her grooming, since she cannot groom herself. We accepted an Emergency Cat Placement yesterday. I ask you to PLEASE be respectful in the comments (Any unrespectful comments will result in your account being blocked.) Hakeem’s owner needed to seek treatment, but wouldn’t go until Hakeem had somewhere to go. So thanks to 2 amazing strangers on Facebook, he made his way to us yesterday. He is VERY scared, which given his circumstances, makes sense. We will give him all the time he needs to decompress, and I can’t wait to love him and help him find his next family. Sending all our love to his former owner. I hope she knows I will care for him deeply for her while she takes care of herself. PROGRESSION VIDEO of our emergency cat placement, Hakeem. Filmed from April 10-April 24th. In just 14 days, Hakeem went from Lunging at me through the carrier, absolutely terrified, cannot touch him… to being able to come out of his cage supervised and coming to the front of the cage for attention! As Hakeem continues to fully adjust to being with us, we will get him to the vet, and then he’ll be able to go up for adoption! Hakeem is NOT a fan of other cats so he will need a home where he is the only pet when he does go up for adoption. We will wait until he is comfortable enough to meet potential adopters before he officially goes up for adoption, though. Can’t wait until he fully adjusts to me now 🤪 He remembers me from when he came in and still isn’t the biggest fan of me personally… but he does great with my volunteers! Also, his former owner is doing well! I have spoken to her. She does not anticipate having the ability to adopt Hakeem back, for everyone asking. And that’s okay! We are just glad she has taken care of herself and got the help she needed! Sending her love while she continues to recover. Our sweet girl, Sally, crossed over to rainbow bridge this morning (March 25th, 2025.) 2 weeks ago, Sally was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. It was inoperable, as she could not go under anesthesia with lung cancer. She started hospice care at the vet, where she could stay in an Oxygen Cage, where she was stable and comfortable. We are so sad to hear the news of her passing, especially since the volunteers and I were going to see her and say our goodbyes today (we didn’t get a chance to, since she passed early this morning.) Some cats forever and final home ends up being with us, and it’s always extra hard for my brittle heart. Thank you so much for loving Sally through the screen, and helping us help her have a wonderful end of life with us. We hope you are running without any restrictions at Rainbow Bridge, Sally. We love you. 🪽🌈 #petangel

Don’t let the cat’s hear you say that you want to inhumanely amputate and mutilate their little paws. Declawing is a painful, inhumane procedure that is the equivalent of cutting our fingertips off at the first knuckle. Declawed cats live the rest of their lives often in pain, as they’re then walking around on half- amputated paws. Veterinary professionals say it would be like walking around with pebbles inside your shoes for the rest of your life. If you’re worried about your cats claws for whatever reason, there are humane alternatives (all listed on Pet Angel’s website under “cat owner tips” > “declawing alternatives.” If you have a cat that is declawed and you didn’t know it was painful for them, that’s okay! You can work with your vet on pain management as they age, and make your home comfortable for them if any issues do come up! Knowledge is power, and my goal is to educate you, not make you feel bad! (But if you DID know this and still decided to declaw your cat, than I hope you do feel bad.)
