I just picked up another old house to bring back to life. The other side is much worse and we have tons of structural issues. Let me know if you want more info on how I get financing and structure these deals. I’m very learned a lot the past 5 years and would love to share if that’s something people want
So this house was supposed to be a tear-down. The floors were gone, the roof was falling in, and it had been sitting for so long it felt like nature was taking it back. But there was something about it—we could see what it used to be. And so could the folks who donated it to the Oakboro Museum in North Carolina. So we got to work. Not just patching it. We reframed it. Replumbed it. Reinforced everything. We touched every inch of this house. Every beam, every board, every nail. We kept the soul and gave it a body that would last another hundred years. So now, instead of being bulldozed, it stands as a piece of history the whole town can be proud of. It’s a reminder that old doesn’t mean broken. It means it’s got a story. And when you honor that story—when you do the work—something incredible happens. So yeah… it was a tear-down. But not on our watch. #JustOldHouses #OldHouseRevival #OakboroNC #SoMuchCharacter #RestoredNotReplaced #HistoricPreservation #OldHousesOfInstagram #BeforeAndAfter #ThisOldHouse
