8:57am my two little tornadoes beg me to let them have a make up party on my head. 8:59am I agree to the torture. 9:04am they get into a huge fight over “the kind” of make up they’re going to give me so they decide to split my face down the middle and each one of them can do whatever they want to “their side” of daddy’s face 👀 10:17am I’m in the shower realizing this s#%t takes forever to wash off. 11am zoom meeting, realizing I still have nail polish on 💅🏾🙋🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ But in the end when it’s time to tuck ‘em in to bed, and kiss ‘em goodnight - you remember quick that they’re only little once and you’d do anything to make ‘em laugh and smile. A brotherly hug almost 10 years in the making 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼🤎🤍 @Jelly Roll Several years ago (roughly 2017) I was going through a very hard thing at the time, I was struggling. My mental wellness turned into my mental hellness. Many of you know the drill, you put on “the face”, show up to work, smile and get through it. Perhaps not the healthiest thing to do, but it’s what I was used to doing at the time. Then a song came on through my headphones one morning on a random shuffle playlist. “Only” from Jelly Roll. The lyrics rocked me. Hard core. The words moved me so much that I reached out to Jelly. I said you don’t know me and I don’t know you, but this song of yours is helping me through some stuff I’m dealing with. I just called to say thank you brother. Our bond was born. The gift I gave Jelly when we finally met, is insignificant to the world, but something I just knew would mean a lot to him and he’d appreciate. It’s an old, and cheap postcard of a little motel called the Alamo Plaza in south Nashville. When I was 15yrs I was forced (family was evicted) to leave Hawaii and make it to Nashville to live with my dad. That didn’t work out so I wound up living with a stranger in this little spot on Murfreesboro Road that has since been torn down and no longer there. Downtown Bruno was that stranger’s name and to this day, he’s one of my best and most special friends. Just like Jelly. A very special friend. Every once in a while we all get sliced up by life, but it’s amazing to see what kind of blessings and people that God and the universe will put in our lives to help us heal through our pain. And a big SURREAL shout out to our boy @Craig Morgan 🎶 who I was just listening to in my truck as I pulled up to meet Jelly. How’s THAT for the universe conspiring for us!! Rest in Peace, Terry Bollea aka The Immortal Hulk Hogan 🕊️💐 To millions of little kids you were a childhood hero - myself included. In 1984, I gave you your “HULKSTER” headband back, in the locker room in Madison Square Garden - I was the lucky kid caught it when you threw it in the crowd. You were wrestling “Mr Wonderful”, Paul Orndorff that night in the main event. You were shocked and so happy after the match because you told me that was your very last headband and if it weren’t for me, you’d have no way of getting that exact one made again. You promised me that you would get more made and give me a Hulkster headband of my own as a thank you gift. A month later in Madison Square Garden, you did just that. You kept your word, with a handshake and a “thanks kid”. And that meant the world to that little 12 year old boy. Just 17 years later, and still a kid at the age of 29 years old — I’m standing in the middle of the ring and facing you - one of my wrestling heroes in the main event of WRESTLEMANIA. The match was to decide who would go down in history, as The Greatest of All Time. When you kick out of my Rock Bottom finisher - just listen and FEEL that crowd go ELECTRIC… all for you. I’ve never felt anything like that in my entire wrestling career. It takes two to tango, but that historic crowd reaction was all for you. You may have “passed the torch” to me that night, but you, my friend…. … you “drew the house” meaning you sold out every arena and stadium across the country in your prime as Hulk Hogan, on your way of becoming the greatest of all time. From deep in my bones, and on behalf of this wild and crazy world of professional wrestling that we love, I say to you now, and forever… Thank you for the house, brother… Thank you, for the house. Loved taking a quiet walk around my scholastic stomping grounds back home here in Honolulu - Washington Middle School 🦅 Not much has changed, but yet.. so much has changed. Walking around here, immediately took me back to a time where I was this tall, lanky, pimply 13 year old kid who really tried to do the right things, but getting in trouble all over town and chasing girls seemed to be my daily passions 🤣 We all grow up, and life gets crazy. I feel like we all need these kinds of “reflective visits” to our old stomping grounds - keeps us humble, grounded and grateful. Always good to be home. #honolulu #middleschool #hawaii #townside 🤙🏾

How bout this proof how life can sometimes come full circle? ⭕️💫❤️ I’ve had the privilege of granting hundreds and hundreds of kid’s wishes from @Make-A-Wish and every single one has changed my life every single time. And looking back to when I was a kid - my dad, Rocky Johnson was actually one of Make-A-Wish’s VERY FIRST WISH GRANTERS back in the 80’s. My dad was a very tough, no BS guy who wasn’t big on emotions. But when I saw him take this little boy, Bobby out of his wheelchair and hold him in his arms - I’d never seen my dad so loving, warm, caring and ATTENTIVE in my life. As a kid I remember thinking how surprised I was seeing my dad that warm and how cool it was to me, that my dad was a hero. But now as a man, I look back and think that the REAL HERO is that little boy Bobby, and my dad was LUCKY to have the honor of making little Bobby’s wish come true. I don’t have a ton of memories of my dad being so loving like this so it means a lot to me to relive this and this also reminds me of the power of MAKE A WISH. Thanks everyone for supporting Make-A-Wish, as I will always hold the foundation and ALL THE KIDS very close to my heart — I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes / It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. It’s not the win - it’s the PRESSURE TO WIN that can become our greatest heartache. It was my deepest honor to induct my brother, “The Smashing Machine” Mark Kerr into the 2025 @UFC Hall of Fame. Mark was one of the greatest fighters on the planet, and during that same time he overdosed twice as he battled his addictions outside of the cage. Today, Mark serves as a pillar of hope to everyone out there who’s holding onto faith, and battling their own demons - one day, one hour, one minute at a time. And what a difference one minute can make. Mark’s smile and laugh lights up the room, but it’s his humility, gratitude, and soft spoken kindness that makes him special. Pressure to win. Accountability when you don’t. Grace when it’s all over. Gratitude as new life begins. Love you brother and thank you for living your life - as your life, has changed mine.
