I hit a plateau after 5–6 years of training. I tried everything you’re supposed to do—lifting heavier, eating more—but nothing was working. My progress stalled, and I felt stuck. Then I realized something huge: It wasn’t just about lifting heavier. I needed to improve my mind-muscle connection and shift my focus to hypertrophy training—especially for my lower body. That meant lowering the weight, dialing in my form, and making sure I was actually activating my glutes. I also discovered that my hips, upper back, and lower glutes were weak. Once I started targeting those areas and building strength where it mattered, everything changed.
