We started this routine as soon as he transitioned to his crib from the bassinet at around 2 months. Factors that helped his sleeping through the night… ☀️ Day time: - Lots of natural light - Not letting naps go longer than 2 hours - Follow age appropriate wake window - Lots and lots of milk (feed on demand) - Use a hands up swaddle for naps (different than bedtime) - Lots of playtime 🌙 Bedtime (start around 7pm): - Lots of playtime/stimulation during last wake window - Magnesium lotion on feet by @8sheeporganics - Swaddle/sleep sack by @kytebaby - Last feed/red light right before bed - White noise all night - Bath time is 2x a week He was on NICU schedule where he would wake every 3 hours. I learned his cues which helped us move away from a strict schedule fairly quick. Because I made sure he was eating A LOT during the day, we removed the 2-3am feeding after we implemented the above for a few weeks. He didn’t even miss it, slept straight through the night. The key is consistency. If he happens to wake and get fussy in the early hours, we don’t pick up right away. We keep room dark, sound machine going, offer paci, a light touch/pat, say “shhhh” and wait/watch for 5-10 min. He usually always puts himself back to sleep and sleeps until anywhere between 6-7am! All babies are different I know, just wanted to share our experience and progress so far ❤️ #4monthsold #sleeptraining #momlife #boymom #postpartum

For all the mamas currently postpartum & struggling with the way their body looks…READ ⬇️ Left photo - the month I found out I was pregnant Feb 2024 Right photo - 2 months postpartum Nov 2024 I have definitely gained breastfeeding weight 😁 which is actually normal for a lot of women! The weight gain is apart of the role your body has in providing for your baby! As a PRE and POST natal coach, a certified Nutrition Specialist, as a mama, from women to women we need to normalize not trying to bounce back right away. And not MAKE weight gain a bad thing. Why shouldn’t we lose weight immediately postpartum?. In order to lose weight we need to be in a caloric deficit. If we cut calories this can interfere with milk supply, cause nutrient deficiencies leading to hormone imbalances and even muscle loss that can be issues later on. We actually need the extra calories and YES even weight gain to support your own health as well as support milk supply. What are my goals surrounding PP? My current workout schedule looks something like this: at least 2 weight training days focusing on upper and lower (lifting heavy 💪🏼) 20 min walks daily if weather permits, deep core and stretching 2x a week. No this doesn’t always happen, but I give myself grace and just show up where I can and when I can! I know it will get easier in the months ahead! I’m NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. My main goal with workouts is to maintain muscle, strength, conditioning, mobility, flexibility and all the other health benefits that come from exercise. I’m also eating more on a maintenance level (about 2800-3000 calories daily from mostly Whole Foods, healthy carbs and fats, high protein). Once I am done breastfeeding, the comeback will be better than ever 🔥❤️ For any mama struggling right now, coming from someone who’s life is FITNESS, it’s OK, you don’t need to bounce back right away, let go of the pressure you are putting on yourself. There is plenty of time to get back to where you want to be! Remember stress is a killer of progress, if it stresses you it’s not helping you ❤️
