My mums back today from her holiday at my sister’s homes in America and my sister and her family are visiting from the US and so I get to spend time with them over the next few days-can’t wait! ‘I hope you don’t regret it!’ Someone messaged me to say this! You know some people would question why I’m moving and I’ve got to say buying this new house has made me reflect and realise how lovely this current home is-more than ever. And I’m not ready to say goodbye to it just yet so I’m grateful that we can renovate the new bungalow without having to move out of this. But I’ve got to say the whole process of finding and buying this bungalow just all fell into place. We have always had this plan that when the kids are older that we then would move, use the equity in the house and do something for us and help us to become more financially free in the future. It really did feel right I’m super excited to get started on the build but grateful that I can enjoy our current home for a little longer. I’m actually finishing off spaces and doing some things on this current house that I wanted to last year but didn’t. I’m going to try and get going with these over the next few weeks while we wait for planning to come back for the bungalow. So what will become of this new home?…what I will say is that we’re keeping it still as a bungalow and making sure that all my kids still have bedrooms😂So it will go from a 2 bed to a 4 bed. I want to go into a deep dive into what we have planned and over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some of those ideas with you too❤️I don’t want to jinx anything though until we’ve got the go ahead 😂but I love the plans we have and I think you’ll love them too! . Driveway Makeover! So almost 2 yrs ago I wanted to change up my driveway I wanted it to work better with the aesthetics of my house but had a quote to replace it, which would have cost over £10k!! The thing was, that the actual paving was in good condition but did need a good clean as it does every year. Like I said the paving was all good so it seemed stupid to spend that kind of money. So we did our research and found a coloured sealant specifically for this kind of thing. This is from @smartsealuk and you can get it in other colours too. The first time we did it, I did 3 coats and used a darker colour for the borders. Super easy to put on as you can see. The whole job took less than 2 days (half a day for pressure washing and making sure the floor is completely dry, the second day for 3 coats on a sunny warm day) Total price….£300! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Now the question I get asked is-how has it held up??? Well every year I like to pressure wash my driveway anyway to clean moss and debris as it’s a north facing driveway and for the first time this year some little chips have come away (if you have a south facing driveway this might not be needed) I have a tin that I keep and it costs around £100 but this will last 2x putting it on. So I have done one new coat this year to top it up and make it look new So it’s since cost me £50 to top up in the 2 yrs I’ve had it. Bigger doesn’t mean better! No hate on bigger houses either (as I’m downsizing for this house) but the point I’m making is you can find the perfect ‘potential’ house, a home that is cheaper and more affordable, smaller-yes but it’s just knowing what to look for and thinking outside of the box. Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing tips on how to find a great smaller home and what to look for. I’ll also be sharing some clever ideas and what we will be doing to maximise space. Even though this house will still be smaller than my current house even after the extension, it will still have everything we want and need and actually some spaces I don’t actually have in this current home. House Tour-as it currently is🤍 Lots of you have been asking for a house tour, so here it is! It has so much potential even if we weren’t to extend as the layout is great! I totally fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and well the views really make it for me. I feel very blessed to not have to live in while the works will be getting done but as you can see we’ve not done anything yet. We’ve got some amazing plans for the space and to turn it into a lovely family home. Plans are in so we are waiting on that and then we’ll start ripping things out and getting stuck in Behind the scenes, I’m researching and sourcing tradesman and companies and materials. I say ‘I’m’ because it is me😂 Danny gets stressed with all of this and I’ve done the last two builds organising myself. To be honest I love it! I’m excited to learn more and understand how things work. I’m going to the @granddesigns_uk show in London tomorrow to look at solar energy and more energy efficient ways to help my home, looking at windows and door companies-I’m excited! Bungalow Reno Update! It’s flown but gone slow at the same time 😂 Yep designs and drawings have changed I’m not going to lie it’s been stressful. We’re just desperately trying to get this right and including all of the things that are important to us. Not our fault for the changes too I might add🙈but I’ll finish that convo there. Im trying to enjoy the process,I am and once all these things are ironed out and the sooner we get started the better but as you know these things take time that a lot of the time are out of our control. However! Max and Ruby have finished college and Uni for the summer and have been massively helping which has been great! We’re determined to all try and learn lots of new things and this is a new thing they’ve learnt which is fab! Here’s to progress! Losing yourself in motherhood 🤍 I always knew I wanted to be a mum- and to this day, it’s my greatest blessing. My kids are my everything and my proudest achievement. But what we don’t talk about enough is how, in trying to be the best mothers we can be, we sometimes lose ourselves. I was a stay-at-home mum—something we both chose—but the financial pressure on my husband, and feeling like I couldn’t contribute, made it harder. Maybe it was my upbringing, or the role my faith taught me to play. I lost parts of myself. Friends. Passions. Even my identity. It was isolating. Exhausting. And for a long time, I forgot who I was because I was too focused on making sure everyone else was okay. When the kids got older, I got a job at their school—something for me, while still being there for them. Bit by bit, I felt a spark again. Creating, connecting, rediscovering my love for the arts. A job I loved, people who believed in me… and then this. Instagram. A space to share, create, and grow and thank you for allowing me to share what I love as my job! For a long time I held onto what felt familiar—even when it wasn’t right—because it felt safe. But eventually, I realised the fear wasn’t a stop sign. It was a sign I was growing. The more I said yes to new things, the more I started recognising me again. I’ve let go—of old expectations, of toxic things and people, of being a people pleaser. I made some pretty big decisions and let go of some things that used to play a huge role in what was a toxic way of thinking. I’ve got my spark back. My smile. My mojo. And most importantly—me. If you’ve ever felt this way—whether through motherhood, relationships, religion, your job, or just life—I hear you. You can find your way back. Maybe not to the old you, but to someone even better. It takes time, reflection, and courage. But it’s possible. I’m proof of that. I’m back and feeling proud of that person I’ve become. I’m not bitter and don’t have regrets I can’t change the past I can learn, grow and move forward. My family are still everything to me!
