Thank you to @B1ank for asking to do this, it was super fun to think of interactions. I thought it was fun to see the contrast between our AU’s and drawing these designs was an absolute blast. Again these are just brief doodles and I didnt go into too much rendering with these, but hopefully they still look good! Also teeechnically goob isnt important in Red Rock until season 2 which I havent gotten to making, but $craps is one of my favorite characters in the chronicles and it would be a shame not to include her. I dont exactly know how tiktok collabs work and if youre planning on anything on your side, but regardless I had fun writing these out. At this point im just rambling so I can get to the character limit for captions. There were some deleted scenes I could talk about. The first one being Shrimpo and Lil P aggressively playing video games together, but I felt it took away the intimidating factor of Lil P. I also couldnt decide on a video game that fit Lil P’s interests AND Red Rock’s timeline. Second, there was going to be a frame of Redrock!Dandy doing the dead peter griffin pose after talking with Double D, but it felt too much work for something that was going to have too little of a punchline. and lastly there was going to be a bonus scene where RR!Scraps asks $craps if she wants to take a listen on her mp3 player, calling her big sis. Saying that since shes technically a craft sibling, and older than both her and goob, that she can be considered an honorary big sister to them. And $craps’ reaction was just going to be open ended for interpretation. But I didnt want to minimize the feeling baby goob frame. Anyways im going to start on the tags now. Woah actual lore uh, again, I’ve been really wanting to do more audio based works and Im pretty happy with how this came out. Originally it was just going to be an animatic, but I got lazy and decided to make it like a video game with expressive sprites. And turns out that was the way to go. Hopefully it doesn’t come off as corny- even if it does though, my stuff has been on the floppy side lately, so this was more of just a fun project for me. The script also had to be rewritten to make up for a lack of voice actor after our Arthur left, little fitting huh? Anyway, I’m just hoping the rewrite didn’t leave out some clues I planted when I originally wrote the script. Episode 4 of #dandysworld #redrockau is here! Im excited I could finally get to the part where the plot takes shape and we’re welcoming in our new sponsor for the band! Ive been off schedule but hopefully i can make up for it in the next few weeks. Again these comics take a little while and Ive also got schoolwork to keep up with 💔 Anyway, lets see if you can find the 2 secret messages Ive hidden. Im a little worried this video wont be seen much? But however it goes I’ll still work on episodes! Ive got a few more things to plan too, so expect to see those soon! Shrimpo, Shelly, and Rodger (and others) are about to kick off their journey out strong, and Im hyped to take yall along the ride with them. Hey guys! Dont think there will be an episode this week, but I wanted to drop this really quickly. These are mostly changes to the original Dandys World story, but they explain a few aspects of the Red Rock universe. There are some additional information that was going to be included, but was later scrapped. For one, the original toon handlers left as the toons grew up. Not for any malicious reason, just because the toons were starting to take care of themselves. I didnt include that in the slide show because they dont pose a significant role within the story and it wouldnt effect anything if they remained employed at Gardenview. Secondly, the remaining toon handlers take care of toodles, but this gets briefly mentioned already in episode 2 by Rodger himself. Next, toons arent allowed to leave the park except on annual trips. (Note: Rodger completed his college courses online.) This was left out of the slides because it would have needed more information on the handlers and their jobs. Again, the handlers arent important. Speaking of Rodger, there was going to be a doodle on the first tidbit about him stalking his crushes myspace, but it was scrapped because I felt it made him too creepy, even as a one off joke. Anyway, Connie was also not going to exist whatsoever in the AU. But halfway through thinking about it, I realized she could allude to another plot point within the story’s past. So she was kept in, albiet only partially since very little toons actually interact with her. And yes, I made sure the numbers made sense. There are humans in this au, and I’m hoping they arent too jarring from the anatomy of the toons. And it isnt because I have trouble stylizing humans to be more chibi, I just wanted to make that distinction important. Theres surprisingly more info on Vee here, thats not intentional since shes only relevant in season 3 of Red Rock. But I wanted to make the fact clear that she isnt biologically made like the others. Sorry there isnt another part this week, i just didnt want to bc its finals. Anyway i decided i wanted to make a few fun interactions, canon and non-canon test ideas. Thank god im a multishipper. Also scraps doesnt actually become an important character in Red rock, i just had an idea when drawing her design for the Dandysblock collab? I think the ship name was pretty clever, like temPURRa shrimp. Wordplay. Im not actually sure if i ship it all too much though even though im the one who came up with the idea for these doodles 😭 but who knows! Does this count as a rarepair? Probably right? I mean i havent seen anyone draw it up yet so im guessing so. Maybe someone can come up with a better dynamic for them than I can, because im just imagining it as a couple who drive eachother up the wall with their antics and just bring out the most immature arguments. Other characters who arent band or stage staff might come out in their own doodle sheet so you can see their designs, but honestly their designs would probably just be me drawing them with a shirt on. Some of the toons arent even fans of the band so im not sure what im doing there. Err nothing really lore related on this post for me to talk about. Hey some Dandys World Red Rock dump stuff Alright time to go into more detail with some of these, Boxten was originally going to have the baggy pants since his normal skin has emphasis on his blue pants, but this was later given to Goob for that care-free vibe. Secondly! He was just going to be his regular deep purple color but this was later changed to reference the dreamy skin. I saw some people suggest me use Glistens sweater skin, but honestly I really dislike that skin for whatever reason. Now onto goob, I wanted to just make him look like an average golden retriever dude. And before someone says it, yes I know having mismatched shoes would’ve been cute, but 1. it causes more unnecessary complications since I have a hard time with my left and rights and remembering which side is blue and which side is red. Secondly, it just didn’t mesh too well when I changed one of the shoes to red. Onto describing Teagan! She was originally just going to be trad goth, but I realized that I was mixing up trad goth elements with romantic goth elements, so I decided to combine the two for her style. She was also going to have a collar like a vampire, but after seeing an adorable concept design for a dress to impress item, I decided to change it. Now for Astro, me and @UnHeardSpore (Redrock!Shrimpo’s VA) were talking about ways I could send Astro to the graveyard since I didn’t know how to explain his disappearance in the plot without it being a serious reason. And he off handedly mentioned his head rotating 360 degrees and we realized. Holy fuck, we can just make him a nocturnal owl. And it fits with my lore and fixes up the other plothole I had for him. (Like seriously how do we expect redrock!Delilah to get a piece of a moon for DNA.) anyway and then there’s Finn. I already drew him before, and he makes a brief appearance in Gigi’s animatic. I thought, since he makes dad-jokes, it would be fun to have him actually yknow, look like a dad? So now he does! Okay that’s about it.
